A year ago I went through this emotionally traumatizing experience where I began to lose my hair. To some this might appear and trite, but any women who has gone through major hair loss sympathises with the grieving.
I’ve always had dark thick curly hair with a significant amount of body – I always thought too much body. Hairdressers always spoke highly about my hair. Secretly I wished for the hair I could not have which is silky straight blond hair. However, when I looked around and saw my hair on the floor, instead of being attached to my head, I absolutely appreciated what I was losing. At the time, wherever I went, I lost a trail of hair behind me. When I washed and combed my hair handfuls of hair would drop out. When I combed my hair, after a minimal amount of strokes, the brush would literally disappear in all the hair burying it. I felt so absolutely vulnerable that I cried all the time. When I pulled my hair up into an elastic and its thickness was no longer what it used to be I finally decided I had to take some drastic measures.
My first step was to see my Physician, There are several medical conditions that cause hair loss such as Cushings, hypothyroidism, diabetes and polycystic ovaries, etc. I agreed to a variety of tests and they all came back negative. Although I was pleased to know I was in good health, it did nothing to settle my grief about the hair loss. Now I was sure I had befallen the curse of baldness that runs throughout my Dad’s family. This flung me into a deeper depression.
My next move was to search the internet looking for information. The internet was crammed with all kinds of miracle cures for hair loss and baldness. I was concerned at how compelled I felt to try something, anything, that would quell this hair loss. Particularly appealing were all of those hair transplant places offering a solid head of hair. But not one of these advertisements offered an explanation. Why was my hair falling out so rapidly?
I did find a appropriate solution. Through the internet I found a medical clinic with a dermatologist who devotes his time to hair conditions. I contacted the clinic and was notified I had to have a referral from my doctor with the outcome of test results to deny other medical diseases. Once I met with my family doctor and the outcome of the tests were delivered we set up an appointment. I met with the specialist and he did a in-depth check of my head and my medical background. After talking to me for half an hour he knew the cause of my shedding. I don’t bring to mind his name but he will always be “GOLDDOCTOR”
Previously that year I had come down with pneumonia which was very damaging to my body. Mother Nature being what she is, decided my body was in need of all the nourishment available and nourishing my hair was not her priority. “GOLDENDOC” in his true wisdom advised me that the deterioration of my beloved locks of hair would be over soon. True to his word my hair finished falling out after another five or six weeks.
Then I stepped through the reverse experience. No hair fallout at all, not even the usual fallout of 100-200 hairs daily. This remainded for six months or so. Now I am happy to have all my hair back, and I sure appreciate it.
If any lady is suffering hair loss, please experiment with what I did. See your doctor and request the needed tests done to rule out underlying medical maladies. If these results are negative, locate a dermatologist who specializes in for work with hair loss. He/she will provide information and options that allow you to make a better choice.
